Julie Karpodines was born in 1980 on the Island of Paros, in Greece. She was home schooled on the island till the age of eight when the Karpodines family started an extensive migration through Canada, the United States and back to Greece. Her formal art education took place in the UK, where she moved at the age of seventeen and received her foundation diploma at Chelsea College of Art in London, and her BA at Bath Spa University College.

Julie now lives and work in Seattle, Washington but travels frequently to gain inspiration and ideas from which to work.
